Art is My Place… - Prima Art Recipe

Hello,
today I have for you new project for April Prima Art Recipe.
Our theme this month was "Attic Findings" and the main products - Patina Effect Pastes + Mechanicals.

I really love creating my mixed media projects on wooden substrates. I can go crazy with paints and various media and nothing bad happens with my base. This time I chose a plywood butterfly. For a project like this, you can really use so many things. These may be some flea market trinkets, "attic findings" like old, broken jewelry, watches or watch parts, buttons, or any pretty trinkets that grab your attention. Surely each of you will find something like this at home :)

First, I glued all embellishments with Heavy Body Gel. I mostly used the new Mechanicals - Vintage Snowflakes, Winter Trinkets and Lotus flower. I also added some Art Stones and Mini Art Stones - they make every project have this unique vintage character.

After all things were added, it was time to use Patina Effect Paste. The effect is just amazing! We can easily transform any object into an item that looks as if it was found at the attic or sunk for long years in the sea.

To soften my butterfly a bit, I used Heavy White Gesso. I used a dry brush and a very small amount of gesso, only to highlight the details, not paint them. I'm not a fan of saturated greens, so now the results looks much more satisfying for me. Finally, I added clear Art Pebbles and a little bit of Glitter to this beautiful Lotus flower.
