Beach Wall Hanging - for Graphic 45

Hello,

Today I have a project for Graphic 45 April challenge - Mix & Match. I love the marine atmosphere so I chose two collections in this type - By the Sea and Sun Kissed. These collections match not only thematically but also in color. I love both, and the "By the Sea" collection in Deluxe Collector's Edition is a real treasure.

I have prepared a marine banner for you, completely without any media or complicated products or techniques. I only splashed it in white, you can easily do it with white ink or diluted paint.

To make the project rich, cut out many elements from paper. Use stickers, die-cuts, pieces of string and gauze. Stick everything with foam tape or cardboard, then the work will have depth, it will be more interesting. I also distressed the edges of each element so that they do not melt with the background. The last accent are the white pebbles that. Is important to choose glue, that will be transparent when dry. Then it will look more natural and aesthetic.

Reach for your favorite collections and take part in this challenge. Try to use the less obvious connections. And if you were inspired by my project - act! I have a movie for you that will help you in this.

Choose To Shine

Hello!

Today I'm here with a small, vintage banner. I decided to make something for this week Simon Says Stamp challenge, and the theme is Vintage/Past Times

I made this little project mostly with Tim Holtz things. I used alcohol inks, distress, ephemera and cute boy paper doll. In pictures, you can see a lot of details and layers, small bulbs, the wire, cogs... I had a lot of fun making this.

See the World - for Retro Kraft Shop DT

Witajcie,
dzisiaj mam dla Was mały projekt z wykorzystaniem niesamowitych stempli Tima Holtza z serii Inventor. Jak zwykle produkty Stampers Anonymous zachwycają mnóstwem detali i jakością, każdy najmniejszy szczegół odbija się idealnie.

Hello,
today I have for you a small project using the amazing Inventor stamps from Tim Holtz. As always, Stampers Anonymous products delight with a lot of details and quality, every smallest detail is reflected perfectly.

Stemple odbiłam tuszem do embossingu na kartach z zestawu Collector Cards Layers i posypałam czarnym, drobniutkim pudrem do detali. Tak przygotowana odbitka wygląda naprawdę świetnie!

I made stamps with embossing ink on the Collector Cards Layers set and sprinkled with black, tiny powder for details. The stamp prepared in this way looks really great!

I built the entire composition from chipboards and their leftovers. I always leave these larger pieces, which remain after removing the chipboards, are perfect for creating layers and for often have interesting shapes. Between each layer, I added metal rings and wooden buttons. Thanks to covering them with gesso, they take all media well and you can't see that they are made of various materials.

Trochę koloru dodałam tuszami alkoholowymi i farbami Art Alchemy, po wyschnięciu są permanentne, więc spokojnie mogłam podkreślić jeszcze wszystkie szczegóły białym gesso, bez obawy, że coś się rozmaże.

I added a little color with alcohol inks and Art Alchemy paints, after drying they are permanent, so I could calmly highlight all the details with the white gesso, without fearing that something will be blurred.

Lost & Found - mixed media banners

Hello!

Today I have for you seemingly simply project... :) But control over this rust pastes is a big challenge for me! This time I used Camouflage Set Rust Effect Paste

The main heroes of these banners are beautiful metal casts from polish manufacture - Mitform. I'm in love with these!

For this project I used only Impasto Paints (jade, lemon peel & dark chocolate) and Art Alchemy Wax (white gold). And of course - rust pastes.
I really like this artwork and I hope that you'll enjoy it too.

Rusty banner - Finnabar Creative Team

Hello!

Today I wanted to show you a project that I had in mind for a long time. I must admit that when Rust Effect Pastes were released, I reached for them with great enthusiasm, but something didn't work, somehow I didn't feel them. I kept using them from time to time, but usually just as an accent of color, not to create the actual faux rust effect. However, I didn't give up and I finally created this project that I really like! :)

I wanted the background of my artwork to be rough and to create the impression of an old, time-worn surface covered with tiny pebbles and some kind of weathered organic forms. To achieve such effect, I mixed Modeling Paste with Mini Art Stones and spread them on my surface. Then I applied paints and pastes on these tiny stones which only enriched and highlighted their effect.

I painted my background with Impasto paints which are completely permanent when they dry. This is their great advantage as they didn't blend or mix with other colors when I added more media and sprays later on in the process.

In this piece I used a lot of embellishments. You can use ready-made elements like for example the beautiful Mechanicals, but you will certainly find lots of treasures in your drawers.
Old buttons, jewelry, watches parts, even uninteresting or ordinary shapes will become unique after being treated with paints and different kinds of pastes. Add some chipboards and their leftovers and your artwork will be even more interesting.

Please, enjoy my video tutorial and I hope you'll feel encouraged to reach for media, embellishments and techniques that have been difficult for you so far. Maybe this time it will be the day when everything will go much easier and you'll discover a new favorite of yours? :)

I'm really happy that I didn't give up on these gorgeous Rust Pastes! :)
