Build Your Wings!

Witajcie!
Dzisiaj mam dla Was steampunkową inspirację, z dużą ilością warstw i detali. Użyłam tutaj jednej z moich ulubionych kolekcji Graphic 45 - Steampunk Debutante, kolekcji pełnej stylowych elementów, idealnych do wycinania. Wykorzystałam głównie balony i motyle, a jako bazy pod całą kompozycję - gładkich stron papierów. Znajdziecie też tutaj metalową kołatkę z głową lwa, która idealnie mi tutaj przypasowała.

Hello!
Today I have for you a steampunk inspiration, with lots of layers and details. I used one of my favorite Graphic 45 collection - Steampunk Debutante, a collection full of stylish elements that are perfect for cutting. I used mainly balloons and butterflies, and as base for the whole composition - plain pages of papers. You will also find here a metal knocker with a lion's head, which perfectly fits here.

Doskonale to uwydatniło piękny, drobiazgowy wzór. Wykorzystałam tutaj też mnóstwo elementów z nowych foremek Finnabair. Żywiczne odlewy również pomalowałam czarnym gesso i podkreśliłam woskami, aby uwidocznić ich piękne detale.

The whole project is quite modest and focused in one place, I didn't want to cover the whole background, which plays one of the main roles here. I used the 3D gel and the beautiful Finnabair stencil - Iris Tapestry. After drying, I painted the whole with black gesso and added color pigments and waxes. It perfectly highlighted the beautiful, meticulous pattern. I used a lot of elements from the new Finnabair moulds. I also painted the resin casts with a black gesso and highlighted them with waxes to show off their beautiful details.

Olde Curiosity Shoppe Sign - for Graphic 45

Hello!
Today I have for you a project for Gaphic 45 monthly challenge. This time we make something from #G45DarkSide

I know that many of you are thinking about Halloween this month. In Poland, where I come from, this is not a popular holiday. However, I really wanted to do something in this style. Something dark, a little strange, which may be a decoration for Halloween, but it will also work as a year-round project.

I reached for the Olde Curiosity Shoppe collection, which is one of my favorites and one of the first I have worked with. In this collection you will find a lot of details to cut, beautiful butterflies, vintage letters, intriguing bottles - I used all of this to create this shop sign. I wanted to make a project that would look old, rusted, hidden among the moss, a sign leading to a mysterious store with lots of strange things.

In this project, I wanted to show how easily you can combine paper with paints and the media. How well they interact with each other, creating together a coherent composition. The most important thing is to add a few used paints or pastes to the paper elements so that they blend seamlessly into the background.

I hope that my project will inspire you to take part in our challenge. Or maybe you will try to play with the media? I am very curious!

Please enjoy my video tutorial!

School Junk Journal - for Graphic 45

Hello friends!

This month's our challenge on the Graphic 45 blog is the Junk Journal. I made a folio folder for the style of an old school notebook. I used the perfect collection for this theme - An ABC Primer. I used the papers and add-ons from this collection only. I have cut out many elements, it has a lot of. Thanks to them, you can do a really rich and varied artwork, without having to reach for anything else. Of course, I wouldn't be myself if I didn’t use some string and gauze. They added the character that the Junk Journal should have.

Making this type of project, remember about aging each element! This is what gives your work the final character. I frayed with scissors all the edges of the notebook, but also every element. In the middle, I glued pages from an old book, and on them, I put the rest. Don’t be too precise, too perfect. This project is to be slightly ragged, careless, splashed. Use a watered ink, watercolors, or even coffee or tea, to make beautiful "old" stains and blots.

I hope that my project will inspire you to create such a journal yourself. The form is very versatile and depends on your imagination or available materials. You can use an old book and decorate its cover and pages, just as good as an old notebook or some unnecessary brochure. You can even fold together several pages of your favorite papers and sew them. Try and share your ideas using hashtag #G45JunkJournal. Good luck!

Fairy-tale box with album - for Graphic 45

Hello,
Today I come to you with the next project for Graphic 45. I used ivory Mixed Media Box to make this mini-album. I don’t have enough perseverance to make large albums for dozens of photos, and these boxes and cards are perfect for me. Small box to close a beautiful memory inside. Today I reached for photos of my friend's daughter. And when I think about little girls, the Fairie Dust collection appears right in front of my eyes. It is ideal for this purpose. Beautiful, cheerful colors, beautiful patterns and of course lots of fairies.

I covered the box with paper, decorated with a lot of flowers and of course a fairy. An interesting element is a colorful window. I made them from thick foil (you can use, for example, stamps packaging), which I colored with alcohol inks. It gave a beautiful, watercolor effect.

In this box I closed four cards, their main element is the photo. I also added flowers, a piece of string. I wanted to show you how easy, but effective, to make such cards. You don’t need many embellishments or special skills to decorate your photos wonderfully. I have a short movie for you.

Video!

And if you would like to make a box with me, I invite you to a longer video. I hope that I inspired you to create your own albums. If you don’t have perseverance for big projects, just like me, start with such small ones. Good luck!

Floral tag - for Graphic 45

Hello Friends!
Today I have for you quick and easy project - a floral tag. I used Large Kraft Tag as a base and few elements from Olde Curiosity Shoppe Deluxe Collector's Edition.

I made very rich and full of media background. This kraft tag is perfect for such purposes. I just covered it with clear gesso so it wouldn't soak or wave.
