Rusty Box - Retro Kraft Shop

Hej,

Hi,
my new inspiration for Retro Kraft Shop is a rusty composition hidden in a metal box.
On the lid, I used a lot of metal elements from MitForm and the most ordinary metal washers. Everything sticks perfectly to a metallic surface thanks to 3D Gel from Finnabair. I painted this composition with waxes from the Art Alchemy series.

W środku ukryłam trochę metalowych i żywicznych elementów, a wszystko potraktowałam pastą z efektem rdzy od Finnabair. Najpierw jednak wszystko pomalowałam czarnym gesso, dzięki czemu wszystkie dodatki jednakowo przyjmują wszelkie media i tworzą jednolitą całość.

Inside, I hid some metal and resin elements, and I treated everything with a rust effect paste from Finnabair. First, I painted everything with black gesso, thanks to which all things equally accept all media and create a unified whole.

Pasty z efektem rdzy są permanentne po wyschnięciu, więc bez problemu mogłam dodać kolorowy pigment i spryskać wszystko wodą. Rdza się nie rozpłynęła, a turkus doskonale ją uwypuklił.

Rust effect pastes are permanent after drying, so I could easily add colored pigment and spray everything with water. The rust did not melt, and the turquoise perfectly emphasized it.

Go Wild - mixed media project - Finnabair Creative Team

Hello,
it's time for my new project for Finnabair Creative Team.

Today I have for you a new mixed-media project created on my favorite kind of base made out of wood. This time I used a heart-shaped piece. I was inspired by the image of this cute girl that is the focal point of my work. I got this photo from my friend and I think it perfectly fits the heart.

This time I wanted to use something a little bit unusual for the background and I had this idea to take... real feathers. I glued them with the Soft Matte Gel which is delicate enough not to ruin their fine structure. I had very soft small feathers and I used quite a lot of them, but I'm sure you will also get a very interesting effect when you use a big one or two.

I also added a few resin shapes to make my background a little bit richer. My next step was to cover the whole surface with White Gesso and then - a very exciting moment - to add chosen colors. I simply made some mists mixing pigments with water and I got beautifully rich, saturated colors.

When I was satisfied with the colors of my project, I reached for one of my favorite products - Antique Brilliance - Red Amber Wax. I added it here and there to highlight the details and get more color contrast.

I also made my own embellishments with clear Art Pebbles. You just paint the bottom and simple as that - you get beautiful, custom made decorations for all kinds of projects. Here I used Art Alchemy Sparks paint (Dragon's Eye), it gave me a wonderful glossy effect.

Here's a video I made to show you the whole creative process. I hope it inspires you to create your own little assemblage.

I think that the feathers I used in the background added a special little touch to the "Go Wild" theme of this mixed media creation of mine. I encourage you to look for unusual items that can help you create some amazing origina textures in your projects.

Keep your eyes open and happy creating!

Vintage Beauty - mixed media canvas for Finnabair CT

Hello,
I think that many of you have on your desk a box (or several :) ) into which you throw all the trinkets, bits and pieces and odd things that may come in handy one day... Does it sound familiar? :)

When I'm working on my projects, I often throw into my 'leftovers' box stuff that doesn't match that particular piece, things I'm too lazy to properly put away when I change my mind and all kinds of different odds and ends… :)

Today I have for you a project that was created using exactly such "unnecessary" things.

As you will see in my short video tutorial below, my background was made with leftovers from die cutting. Once I had to cut out a lot of circles and stars and I thought that perhaps one day I could use these papers in some way.

I simply glued them on my base, not caring too much how and then I covered the papers with a layer of Heavy White Gesso. This gave me great base texture and a fantastic dimensional effect.

Priming the papers with gesso made it resistant to paint and water. I knew that thanks to that, my papers wouldn't get deformed under a large amount of water and different media.

Gesso also helps to distribute the colors which would otherwise simply soak into paper. This way they beautifully highlighted the irregular surface.

The photo that is the focal point of my composition was painted with Clear Gesso. When it dries, it turns glossy photos into matte ones and I really love this effect, I think it adds to the vintage look.

Art Alchemy Waxes are always the perfect medium I reach for to add eye-catching final touches. You can use them to create the shading or highlight all the elements you'd like to accentuate (paper, metal, resin - any kind of surface really).

I usually end working on a piece with splashing some white ink and adding a touch of white gesso here and there, I feel it makes the whole work more cohesive.

Here's my step-by-step video - I hope you'll enjoy!

So open up your junk boxes, pick some items and act!
I'm sure you'll quickly find some treasures in your 'trash'. ;)

I hope that my project and the video will inspire you to use and re-use some pretty bits and pieces.

Happy creating!

Hello friends!

Today I have for you a new layout.
Very colorful, cheerful, rich, with many layers.
I used one of my favorite 7 Dots Studio collection - Lost&Found.
The watercolor effect I got with amazing Twinkling H2O's paints from ColourArte.

Jeśli macie ochotę przygotować podobną pracę pod moim okiem, zapraszam na moją stronę na Facebboku, gdzie już niedługo ukażą się informacje na temat nadchodzących warsztatów.
